Last month I shared our big news! We are moving! I am so excited to share more of our journey of building our own home and all that details that go along with that. Buuuuut first things first! We have to sale our current home! :) I’ve been busy getting everything ready to put our current home up on the market. That happened about 3 weeks ago. We’ve already had multiple offers, and we are set to close (if everything goes well!) early next month. This is our 3rd time selling a home, and I’ve learned a few tricks & tips to selling your home quick over the years. Today I am excited to partner with The Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Home Fragrance by the makers of the Glade® brand to bring you 5 Tips for Selling Your Home Quick. Let’s get started! :)

Tip #1: Make sure your home smells good!

I believe how your home smells can be one the biggest selling points to potential buyers. It’s one of the first things potential buyers will notice as soon as they step into your home.
Glade® Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Fragrance Mist (that you can easily find at Walmart) makes this task so easy! The fragrance mists are infused with essential oils to create masterfully crafted fragrances. Annnnnd the best part is that these new fragrances are comparable to higher end room sprays, but at the same time they are super affordable. They will help make your home smell amazing! You can find several different fragrances to set the mood & style of your room! These fragrance mists come in 4 varieties. I want to try them all, so I bought one of each! haha! :)
  • No.1 Enraptured™ fragrance: This mist has elegant notes of jasmine & rose are given a modern twist with scents of pink lady apple & honeysuckle. A hint of honey lends a sweet surprise over a backdrop of cedar wood & spicy clove bud notes.
  • No.2 Bright™ fragrance: This mist has a touch of ripe raspberries & orchard fruit notes mixed with jasmine, rose & sweet pea over a soft bed of powder musk, sweet tonka bean & sheer blonde woods scents. (This one might be my favorite!)
  • No.3 Free fragrance: This mist has a hint of white pineapple, citrus & beachside florals intertwined with layers of coconut, beach woods & vanilla bean scents.
  • No.4 Tempted™ fragrance: This mist has hints of warm, exotic spices that are kissed with freesia & golden amber. Vanilla orchid notes deepen the captivating blend along with scents of fresh eucalyptus, cedarwood, patchouli & brown sugar. Doesn’t that sound amazing?
It’s so easy to freshen the feeling of your home & bring in an amazing fragrance! Be sure to check out the printed instructions on the back of the bottle for how to use these sprays, but basically you spray the mist up & sweep side to side in a continuous spray. Then all you’ll need to do enjoy how your home smells! Annnnd potential buyers will love the smell, too! ;)

Tip #2: Vacuum & clean the carpets & floors.

Just a simple vacuuming of carpets & sweeping of hard floors can make such a huge difference in how your home shows. Don’t forget to sweep & clean underneath furniture. You want to banish those dust bunnies! haha!

Tip #3: Touch up paint.

Be sure to use a Saturday afternoon to go around your home to touch up paint. Pay special attention to trim paint. Trim paint around doors always take a beating. A fresh coat of paint can do wonders. Patch any dings in your walls and paint over nail holes.

Tip #4: Declutter your home.

Pack up items you aren’t using. The less clutter you have around the better, and you home will look bigger. Pack up toys, craft supplies, extra books & anything you don’t need to use daily. Store them in the garage or even rent a storage unit to store your stuff out of sight. The less clutter your home has, the bigger and cleaner your home will look to potential buyers. Do you think I own a little bit too much vinyl? haha! ;)

Pay special attention to entry ways. When potential buyers walk in, this will be the spot that they get their first impression of your home. Make it a good one! Check out our cluttered entryway. Coats, bags & hats crowd the entry & make it look cluttered & smaller than it actually is.

See how clean & welcoming it looks with less clutter! Annnnd it only took 5 minutes to declutter. ;)

Annnnd of course, donate as much as you can to a local charity or host a garage sale. It always feels good to purge! It will make your upcoming move that much easier as well. :)

Tip #5: Deep clean your home.

Dust blinds, light fixtures & fans. Get the cobwebs out of the corners, too. Deep clean bathrooms and organize closets. Scrub doors and countertops. Straighten the garage and sweep the porches and decks. A clean home will sale much faster than a dirty home.

Annnnnnd don’t forget to keep The Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Home Fragrance by the makers of the Glade® brand on hand for when your home is decluttered & that call comes in that you have a showing. Eek! Spray it in a few rooms, and then leave knowing potential buyers will walk into a home ready to show & smelling so, so good! Annnnnd ready for that SOLD sign. :)
