I am so excited to be taking part in the Ultimate Recipe Challenge: Breakfast Edition.
Hello! Good morning! One of the most important meals of the day is breakfast. Don’t you think? ;) One of our favorite family traditions is making a huge breakfast on Sunday mornings. It’s the one morning of the week that we have extra time to sit down & all eat together. Thanks to late church. :) This yummy Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread is so easy to put together. It’s one of our favorites. Let’s get to that recipe!
For this recipe you will need:
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 package cream cheese (8 oz.), softened
Grands Cinnamon Rolls (2 cans)
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Spray a bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over low heat, stirring well; set aside. Now it’s time to start layering. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the nuts into the bottom of the bundt pan.
Then cut the cream cheese into about 20 equal pieces. Unroll the cinnamon rolls & cut into smaller strips. Place a cube of cream cheese in the center of each piece.
Then wrap & seal the cinnamon roll around the cream cheese by pinching the edges together with your fingers. Continue until you are finished making all of the bundles.
Place half of the prepared cinnamon roll cream cheese bundles in the bottom of your pan.
Pour half of the melted butter/brown sugar mixture over the cinnamon roll bundles, and sprinkle some of the pecans on top. Top with the remaining cinnamon roll bundles & then pour the remaining sugar mixture & nuts over the top.
Bake for about 30 minutes (watching closely). I ended up cooking mine just a little bit longer than that. You’ll know it is done when the cinnamon rolls have a slight golden brown look. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Place a plate on top and flip it over. Drizzle the icing that comes with your cinnamon rolls over the top while warm. Yum!
Sometimes my monkey breads stays together better than others. ha! This time is was almost falling apart. Either way it’s delicious with a great big glass of cold milk. Yum! :)
