For this project you will need:
Silhouette machine
snowflakes cut in vinyl (any color)
let is snow cut in white vinyl
frosted glass spray paint
mason jar

You can check out my how to cut & apply vinyl tutorial to see how easy it is to cut vinyl with your Silhouette. So basically for this project I cut some snowflakes out with my Silhouette Portrait. You can use any color vinyl because these will be used as a stencil in just a bit. So the first thing you’ll do is put snowflakes on your jar.

Next I took my jar outside & spray painted two coats of the frosted spray paint. Let it dry.

Then I carefully removed the vinyl snowflakes. Vinyl makes THE perfect stencil! ;)

Then I tied a piece of twine around the top of my jar, and then I put a candle inside.

At the last minute I decided to add a Let is Snow hang tag using a tag & white vinyl. Love it! :)

Then I lit the candle! So pretty! These would make awesome centerpieces for a winter party or wedding. ;)

  1. I have tried using vinyl and spray paint, and have trouble getting the vinyl off without peeling the spray paint. Am I spraying too much? Or is there some trick to it? :)

    1. This is the first time I've used vinyl with spray paint. :) I usually just use acrylic paint. Acrylic works great. For this project it was a really thin layer of spray paint so that probably helped a lot. I could definitively see a thick layer of paint making it harder to get the vinyl off. I'd do several thin coats when working with vinyl stencils for sure. :)

  2. I got a Cameo for Christmas from my awesome hubby!!! So excited to be really trying some of the awesome projects you always post! Gotta go check out that vinyl deal... Hope you had an awesome Christmas, Ginger!

    1. No waaaaay! Congrats, Sky! So excited for you, girl. You're going to lurve it!

  3. Some good apps for college you will find in this blog post. Make sure to take a look at it as soon as possible. Good luck mate
