Our family loves participating in the Champions for Kids #SimpleGiving service projects each month. They are awesome, and Champions for Kids make it so easy to give back to kids in your community. I know we are all so busy ~ so that helps out a lot! :) Right now at many local Walmarts you can find displays with personal care items like Kleenex tissues, hand wipes, Dial soap, shampoo & deodorant that you can pick up & then drop in donation boxes near the checkout. Keep reading to see how easy it was for our family (& YOU) to give back to children in our community. :)
My son, Rylan went with me to participate in this month’s simple giving service project. He is super close to earning his Arrow of Light award in Cub Scouts. One of the last things he need to pass off is doing a community service project. So this was a perfect opportunity for him. :)
At our Walmart they had donation spots set up in a couple of areas throughout the store. I thought this was a great idea! You can’t miss them! :) The first one we spotted was this one right by the produce section. It was full of Kleenex tissue. So we grabbed a few of those.
On the other side of the store near the pharmacy they had another display set up. This one had deodorant, Dove bar soap & shampoo. I loved the smaller sizes! Each item cost under $2. I love that it doesn’t take a lot of money to help a child. You’ll be making a huge difference in a child’s life by giving just a little of your time & money. Just think of how great they’ll feel when they are able to have clean hair & smell good. It can be such a confidence boaster!
This is what our grocery cart was looked when we were done! Then we headed to the checkout! OK…we stopped by & got some ice cream bars for ourselves first! ha! ;)
At our Walmart they had two donation bins set up by either entrance. So we couldn’t miss them!
We dropped our donations inside, and that was it! You can connect with Champions for Kids on pinterest, twitter &/or facebook to learn more about this month’s Simple Giving Service project & to be informed on more Simple Giving service projects as they happen.
Remember next time you visit Walmart look for the Champion for Kids bins, grab some items to donate & then drop them in the donation boxes after you check out. Let me know if you do! I’d love to hear! :)
