Ginger Snap Crafts: Planting Sunflower Seeds {kid activity} #GoGreenNGiggle

Planting Sunflower Seeds {kid activity} #GoGreenNGiggle

Earlier this morning I told you that this week was our Spring Break! Wahoo!
Annnnd for the first time in a long time we aren’t going out of town for the whole week.
We do have lots of fun things planned though.  I’ll be sharing some of them this week.
On Saturday we planned to work in the yard as a family.
Good plan because it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day. Yay!
We always plant a garden, & we have tons of flowers in our front flower beds.
I’ll be sharing some pictures of our flowers later on this week.
{I’m kind of excited about my flower beds!}

One of the things we always plant are sunflower seeds.
We usually add a row or two in our back yard garden.
Sometimes we even add a few to the front flower bed as well.
My kiddos love watching them grow into something HUGE!
We usually save the seeds for the birds to eat during the winter.
Here are some pictures of our sunflowers from the past several years.

Love how sunflowers are so bright & cheery!
{Sunflowers are awesome & so easy to grow!}

While we were working in the yard Saturday the kids were excited
when the postman delivered a box just for them!  Inside the box was the
Go Green & Giggle Greenhouse Kit

from The Gigglin' Garden Gang.
They were super excited to get to try it out
since my kiddos LOVE to grow things
(& they LOVE getting packages in the mail)! Smile

Earlier that week I had visited The Gigglin’ Garden Gang website to order our kit.
The Gigglin’ Garden Gang has a super cute website geared just for the kids.
{They have some fun videos for the kiddos to watch & some tips for growing your garden.}

I really like all the vegetable & plant inspired characters.  Too cute! Smile

Buuuut the thing I love most is that when
you make the purchase of your
Go Green & Giggle Greenhouse Kit
you’ll check out through Amazon.com.  This makes it super fast
& convenient since I tend to order through Amazon a lot.
So my address and credit card information are already there ready to go.

The kit comes with everything you need to make your own sunflower garden.
It comes with a cute Suzi Sunflower book & sing-a-long CD all inside a reusable little bag.

It also comes with a little greenhouse, sunflower seeds & “magic” dirt.
{The dirt is magic because when you add warm water it magically expands!}

My kiddos LOVE to play in the dirt! Smile

After you have your dirt ready then it’s time to break out the sunflower seeds & start planting!

My kiddos LOVE planting seeds, so this part was their favorite. Winking smile

Here’s our little sunflower garden all planted….just waiting to grow!
Since it is so warm here, we left our green house lid off, &
we put it in our window box, so we can watch them grow! Smile

We’ll keep you posted on how BIG our sunflowers get! Smile
